The Problem We're Solving
Reentry after incarceration is one of the most challenging transitions a person can face. Finding housing, employment, healthcare, and legal support requires navigating a complex web of organizations, programs, and requirements.
Information is scattered across dozens of websites, phone numbers, and offices, making it overwhelming to know where to start. BridgeBack centralizes everything in one place with a clean, easy-to-use interface.
More than just a directory, BridgeBack creates personalized roadmaps based on individual needs, tracks progress, and keeps important documents organized.
What Makes BridgeBack Different
About the Team
BridgeBack was created by Munshi and Dan, two University at Buffalo students passionate about using technology and innovation to solve real-world problems.
Munshi is a senior Information Technology Management student focused on the technical side—building systems that genuinely help people through thoughtful design and development. Dan brings the business perspective, focusing on strategy, viability, and bringing ideas to market.
Together, we're drawn to the intersection of tech and social impact, believing that innovation and entrepreneurship can create meaningful change in people's lives.
Court Clarity
A web app that helps people understand complex legal documents by breaking down legal jargon into plain language.
Visit Court ClarityThe Criminology Design Challenge
BridgeBack was created for the University at Buffalo's Innovate for Impact: Criminology Design Challenge, a two-week intensive competition where student teams develop evidence-informed solutions to pressing criminological issues.
The challenge focused on areas like crime prevention, restorative justice, community-police relations, and reentry. Projects were judged on viability, social entrepreneurship, equity, empathy, and innovation.
BridgeBack embodies these principles by centering the needs of those reentering society, respecting their privacy, and providing practical, accessible support.
The Vision
Reentry shouldn't feel impossible. With the right tools, information, and support, everyone deserves a fair chance to rebuild their lives.
